Technical Imaging

The technical imaging services offered include the planning, setup, and capture of events for the purpose of scientific and technical testing using image data. This is achieved using both film and digital devices from single frame still cameras to high speed video cameras. Depending of the requirements of the project an imaging system could include one camera or a multiple camera system. The cameras are triggered using high speed electronics equipped with the appropriate sensor to start the cameras at the correct time. Calculations made to simulate the event which lasts only a fraction of a second ensures that the necessary images are captured. To increase the usefulness of the resulting data, optical and physical techniques can be used to expand the ability of the camera and enhance the images captured.

Image Processing and Analysis

In scientific imaging applications it is often necessary to enhance the resulting images to aid in the analysis. Doing so makes the images the best they can be and more intuitive for display and representation purposes. There are a number of software programs currently on the market to edit digital images, ranging from cheap and easy to expensive and complicated.
